James
Christiansen (Director) graduated from Georgia Southern University with a
Bachelor of Music Education degree December of 1999. He began his teaching
career in the fall of 2000 as the assistant
band director at Bert Rumble Middle School
and Bonaire Middle School in
Warner Robins, Georgia. In 2002, Mr. Christiansen accepted his current
position as band director at Bert Rumble Middle School.
While attending Georgia Southern University, Mr. Christiansen performed with
GSU Symphonic Wind Ensemble, Southern Pride, the Tuba Ensemble, the Brass
Quintet, Southern Chorale, and University Singers. He is also an alumnus of
Cavaliers Drum and Corps and the Magic of Orlando Drum and Bugle Corps.
Mr. Christiansen is a member of Georgia Music Educators Association, Music
Educator National Conference, Professional Association Georgia Educators,
and Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia music fraternity.

Bill Alford (Assistant Director) comes to Huntington with 29 years of experience teaching Band in the State of Georgia. He received his Batchelor’s Degree in Music Education from
Georgia College and State University, a Master’s Degree in Music Education from Shorter College, and a Specialist’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Columbus State University.
Mr. Alford has been married to Roya, also a teacher in the Houston County, for the past 28 years and he has two sons. Mr. Alford’s oldest son, Will, is a Junior at Columbus State University where he is a Music Education . His youngest son, Tyler, is a Junior at Houston
County High School. Tyler is also very involved in the Band at Houston Co. High where is a member of the Concert Band, Football Band, Competition Band and Jazz Band.
Mr. Alford, besides his teaching duties, is also very active in his church, Shirley Hills Baptist, where he leads the Church Orchestra
